It's Time to Start Washing Your Phone. And Wallet. And Keys.

You do it every time you step out, pat your pockets…keys…wallet…phone. All set, let’s roll. You’re probably getting pretty good at keeping your hands washed. Why wouldn’t you, it’s being drilled into your head at what feels like every waking moment, so much that it has forever changed how we shake hands, interact with people, everything. So maybe start investing in a little pocket hand lotion as well. However, it’s also time you start washing your phone, and wallet, and keys. Daily.

Those mobile devices are now simply a part of every day life. Perhaps door handles are the only other item that gets more interaction with it every day as much as phones do. And people are starting to bring it up, you should be cleaning your phone. Think about it, you use your hands for EVERYTHING, and it probably gets exposed to more bacteria than the bottom of you shoes. And you leave your shoes at your door or whatever designated area you have for them. Exactly, a designated area, you inherently know you don’t want cross contamination all over your floors. Yet, cleaning your device simply doesn’t happen. And it’s not just that, even with NFC technology and contactless payments from your phone, credit cards and cash are frequently exchanging hands, and then those same hands are reaching for your keys when you get in your car, open your locker, unlock your home.

So, next time you get back from doing your essential trips, wipe your phone down with wipes or even just a touch of soap and water, do the same with your credit cards and wallet, clean your keys. Then, say it with me, WASH YOUR HANDS. In that order. You’re going to go through the trouble of being diligent washing your hands only to check your Instagram feed and there goes the clean hands.

Oh yea, and wipe down those AirPods too. Come on, do I really have to say it?
